Packing List Template for Household Goods

raveling abroad is a pleasure for many, and shopping is even more enjoyable. However, the baggage weight allowance from airlines is often not enough to bring all your purchases back to Colombia. That’s why at CLM Cargo, we offer you this incredible service.
UNACCOMPANIED BAGGAGE refers to baggage that arrives or departs from the country either before or after the traveler’s arrival, "up to 1 month before or 3 months after." The traveler is allowed to bring goods into Colombia, in addition to their personal belongings, that are subject to taxes.
The traveler must have been outside the country for a minimum of 5 days. If this requirement is not met, the service does not apply.
The value of the unaccompanied baggage in US dollars cannot exceed $2,500. If this requirement is not met, the service does not apply.
Minors: They can only bring goods with a value equivalent to 50% of the limits specified here.
The traveler has two alternatives to withdraw his merchandise from the airline:
By hiring a customs agent such as CLM Cargo or doing it directly with the DIAN. The luggage can arrive before or after or with the traveler, it is understood that this procedure is of a family nature, never commercial.

Packaging and Wrapping are the first step and one of the most important in our logistics process. The logistics process typically involves an average of 11 handling stages from the moment the cargo leaves its origin until it reaches its final destination. These stages include loading, unloading, opening and closing of packages, inspections at both the origin and destination by different authorities, transportation movements, and more. It is your responsibility to provide proper packaging and wrapping to ensure that the cargo arrives at its destination in optimal condition.
PACKAGING: This is the material used to protect the cargo from external elements. Examples include double-corrugated cardboard boxes, bubble wrap, Yumbolon, plastic bags (used to protect the product from moisture but not as packaging, placed inside cardboard boxes), Styrofoam, foam, cardboard corners or corner protectors, among others.
WRAPPING: This refers to the material that groups the packaging together, such as pallets or skids, wooden or plastic crates, stretch film, straps, and more. When transporting goods on pallets, skids, wooden crates, or boxes, we must ensure that they comply with international wood fumigation standards (NIF15). Otherwise, we could incur additional costs for fumigation, repacking, and/or destruction of the packaging material.
When packing the cargo, you must consider the restrictions of the mode of transportation, such as the maximum dimensions and weight per item (this is especially important for air freight), and/or the restrictions at both origin and destination regarding cargo handling. Keep in mind that pallets are handled by forklifts that have weight limits per item, and handling oversized or overweight items may result in additional costs.
At CLM Cargo, with our PACKAGING AND WRAPPING SERVICE, we take the measurements of your goods and create custom-certified pallets or wooden crates. Check the price for this service here.
MARKING: Marking, or the use of packaging symbols on the packages, should be visible and easily identifiable, with the appropriate label and information on how to handle it. This includes indications if the item is delicate, cannot get wet, is fragile, is dangerous cargo (IMO-UN), how much it can be packed, if it is non-removable, if the cargo should travel upright, and other important handling instructions.
